Breastfeeding & Newborn Care with Sofia
A 3 hour class for all mothers-to-be.
Service Description
This Breastfeeding & Newborn Care Class is led in English by Sofia, a British-Italian Midwife and Registered German Hebamme. The class is only for future mothers-to-be. If you are interested in a couples class, look for our One Stop Couples Childbirth Class, which covers everything you need to know from from the third trimester of pregnancy to delivery and the first few hours post partum. CLASS TOPICS BREASTFEEDING Preparation for breastfeeding Successful implementation Advice on problems associated with breastfeeding to include: cracked and sore nipples, engorgement, blocked ducts and mastitis NEWBORN CARE What to expect in those early days in hospital: examinations, screening tests etc. Changing nappies/diapers Jaundice Reducing the risk of cot death Going home with your new baby How to help soothe your baby Practicalities with having a new baby at home All class material is in accordance with current research and follows the UNICEF and World Health Organisation guidelines. On completing the class a PDF file is sent with class notes, useful website links and further information. Maximum per class = 16 ladies HOW TO REGISTER 1. Click on 'Choose a Date & Book', select your preferred date and fill in the required details. 2. The registration fee of 20 euros needs to be privately paid and covers class materials. After submitting the registration form, you will receive an email with Payment Instructions for the class (PayPal or Bank transfer) along with a Booking Confirmation email. The rest of the mother's class fee is fully covered by german health insurance companies and is billed directly by the midwife. You will be asked to provide your Krankenkasse details by email before the class. In the case of privately insured women, an invoice for the mother's fee will be sent to the home address after the class. This must be paid by the participant and can then be submitted to the insurance company for reimbursement. SUMMARY OF CONTRACT Courses at Pippagina must be booked via the online registration function for prenatal classes and postnatal classes. After booking a class online, clients receive a confirmation of receipt of the booking by email (booking confirmation). The contract between Pippagina and the client comes with a receipt of the booking confirmation. CONTENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF THE AGREED COURSE The content and implementation are based on the respective course program. Pippagina reserves the right to adapt individual course contents to the needs of the course without his / her consent, in a reasonable and not unfairly unfavourable way to the interests of the contracting parties. COURSES AND COSTS Where a woman has public health insurance, courses that are supported by insurances, i.e. Childbirth classes, are settled directly with the women’s health insurance company by the midwife. In the case of privately insured women, then Pippagina send a bill to the lady after the class, that she must settle with Pippagina and then can submit to her insurance company for reimbursement. Missed hours cannot be settled with the insurance company and must be paid for by the participant. It does not matter for what reason the participation did not take place. Partner fee may be partly reimbursed by the partners insurance but not always. The partner fee must be paid at booking. CANCELLATION POLICY If the participant has to cancel a class 50% of the course fee will be reimbursed up to 28 days before the start of the class, thereafter no reimbursement of the course fee will be charged. If the course is cancelled by Pippagina, the course fee will be refunded in full. COLLECTION, USE AND PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA Pippagina stores and processes personal data electronically with all contractual partners. For courses that are billed via the Midwives Fee Ordinance, the midwife stores personal data in automated files and forwards them electronically to the central billing centre. Data protection regulations are complied with. The registration includes the express agreement of the contracting parties herewith.
