Service Description
Becoming a dad is an exciting time, but it can also come with lots of questions. This Newborn Care Class for Dads is perfect for fathers-to-be who would like to gain practical knowledge, build confidence and feel more prepared for life with their baby. The class is led in English by Sofia, a British-Italian Midwife and Registered German Hebamme, in a relaxed space where you can ask questions and learn skills while connecting with other dads who are going through the same experience. Class Content: BREASTFEEDING & FEEDING Breastfeeding basics How to recognise your baby's feeding cues YOUR BABY'S FIRST DAYS What to expect during the first days in hospital Routine examinations and newborn screening tests What happens before going home with your baby PRACTICAL NEWBORN CARE How to hold and handle your baby How to change your baby's nappy How and when to bathe your baby How to care for the umbilical cord How to create a safe sleep environment How to soothe and comfort your baby Common newborn concerns: jaundice, gassy babies, nappy rash… Kinderarzt check-ups Practicalities of having a new baby at home + LOTS OF TIME FOR YOUR QUESTIONS! All class content is based on current research and evidence-based recommendations, and follows relevant UNICEF and World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines. After completing the class, you will receive a PDF with the class notes, useful website links and further information to keep as a reference at home. Minimum 5 participants. Maximum per class = 16 dads. HOW TO REGISTER 1. Click on 'Choose a Date & Book', select your preferred date and fill in the required details. 2. The registration fee of 20 euros needs to be privately paid. After submitting the registration form, you will receive an email with Payment Instructions for the class (PayPal or Bank transfer) along with a Booking Confirmation email. Note: if your baby arrives before the class and therefore you are unable to attend, you will receive a full refund. SUMMARY OF CONTRACT Courses at Pippagina must be booked via the online registration function for prenatal classes and postnatal classes. After booking a class online, clients receive a confirmation of receipt of the booking by email (booking confirmation). The contract between Pippagina and the client comes with a receipt of the booking confirmation. CONTENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF THE AGREED COURSE The content and implementation are based on the respective course program. Pippagina reserves the right to adapt individual course contents to the needs of the course without his / her consent, in a reasonable and not unfairly unfavourable way to the interests of the contracting parties. COURSES AND COSTS Where a woman has public health insurance, courses that are supported by insurances, i.e. Childbirth classes, are settled directly with the women’s health insurance company by the midwife. In the case of privately insured women, then Pippagina send a bill to the lady after the class, that she must settle with Pippagina and then can submit to her insurance company for reimbursement. Missed hours cannot be settled with the insurance company and must be paid for by the participant. It does not matter for what reason the participation did not take place. Partner fee may be partly reimbursed by the partners insurance but not always. The partner fee must be paid at booking. CANCELLATION POLICY If the participant has to cancel a class 50% of the course fee will be reimbursed up to 28 days before the start of the class, thereafter no reimbursement of the course fee will be charged. If the course is cancelled by Pippagina, the course fee will be refunded in full. COLLECTION, USE AND PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA Pippagina stores and processes personal data electronically with all contractual partners. For courses that are billed via the Midwives Fee Ordinance, the midwife stores personal data in automated files and forwards them electronically to the central billing centre. Data protection regulations are complied with. The registration includes the express agreement of the contracting parties herewith.
